Day 3 : Ah...What a Day!
So! This day! What to say about it! It was one busy day!
We met in a group at 8:30am, and filled out some paper work. It was rather dull. hahaha. At this point, we started to walk Tokyo in a group of 10 plus 2 guide. It was...a lot of walking. We took the subway, which is always fun. And went to a DMV like place to register myself as an alien. Hahaha. The wait wasn't too bad, but after giving the paperwork, we had to wait for about an hour. So...we were taken to the Tokyo Dome! It was awesome! It had a small amusement park and delicious crepes!!! Ah...how I missed those crepes. So delicious. :)
Anyhow, we went back to the DMV like area, and recieved two sheets of paper. Apparently we have to go back there at the end of the month to get our "green card". Well next we went up some floors to get our national health care card. It was another easy thing to do, and it was done in about 30 minutes. Afterwards, we went to the highest floor of the building, and got to see the majority of Tokyo from it! It was amazing! As my friend said, "Like NYC on acid". Hahaha.
So...I know this is getting boring, but more subway rides ensued, and we got a tour of Toyo University. Let's say...that none of the colleges in TN come even close to looking as nice as Toyo. Not even Vanderbilt. It's just...so much nice. So big! Crazy amazing. I know now that MTSU is going to look really stupid when I go back 10 months from now.
Now we were left to do as we pleased. We walked around a bit, entered a temple, and then went to a Panasonic store looking for a outlet converter. No luck, so we decided to go to Akihabara, which is the HUGE electronics center of Tokyo. More walking. Blah blah blah. Bought some stuff. Walking. Legs hurting badly. Subway riding. Walking. Fun.
Here's where it got interesting! My roommate and I went to eat dinner at some of our friend's dorm room on the floor above ours. We had lots of fun talking for about 3 hours. But when it came time to go back, neither of us had our card keys to get in! We tried to see if the landlord was still there, but it was 10:30pm, so that was a no. So...we had to stay in our friend's dorm on the floor for the night! Hahaha...it was interesting.
Oh, and today was hot as fuck. No lie. Tokyo makes TN seem cool.
